Colorado Man Sentenced to year and a day for marijuana distribution
OCT 17 -- (DAVENPORT, IA) - On October 15, 2008, United States Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker announced, James Alfred Comstock, 28, was sentenced to 12 months and one day imprisonment after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
United States District Judge John A. Jarvey also ordered Comstock to serve three years of supervised release upon release from imprisonment and to pay an assessment of $200 to the Crime Victim Fund. Members of the Quad City Metropolitan Group (MEG) intercepted a load of marijuana, 170 pounds, driven by Comstock coming from Colorado in route Connecticut.
This case was investigated by the Quad City Metropolitan Group (MEG), Drug Enforcement Administration, Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa prosecuted the case.
