Translation: By The Way...Are You Living Your Natural High?
||A kick off celebration for Red Ribbon Week Statewide. Red Ribbon Week serves as a tribute to Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena who was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by drug traffickers in Mexico 23 years ago. This celebration will bring together thousands of youth along with local, state and federal agencies, organizations and a variety of guest speakers (listed below).
||Monday, October 20, 2008
Time: 10:00am-1:00pm (main presentation and speakers 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Exhibits 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)

400 Ballpark Drive
West Sacramento, California 95691
||The California Red Ribbon Coalition (which is comprised of members of various state and national agencies-listed to the left), along with thousands of Sacramento area students will celebrate living their lives drug free along with activities and displays including an F-16 flyover, helicopters, the Ghillie Low-Crawl Team, DEA lab truck, SWAT team, DOJ lab truck, K-9 units, police units and much more! Special guest speakers include Geneva ‘Mika’ Camarena (widow of Kiki Camarena), Renee Zito, Director of California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, two time Olympian and gold medalist Deedee Trotter, Assemblyman Dave Jones, Major General William H. Wade II, Adjutant General California National Guard, motivational speaker and entrepreneur Brian Sharp, Miss teen California Brittany McKenzie, Dinger the Rivercat and many more.
||The Red Ribbon Week Celebration serves as a symbol of the drug and alcohol free lives and communities that Kiki lived and died for us to have. This tragic event produced an immediate outpouring of grief that over time has evolved into a sense of hope and empowerment across America. The Nationwide Red Ribbon Celebration grows stronger and gains more recognition each year. Because of its growing impact, more people, especially our youth, are choosing to say “no, to drugs and alcohol” and “yes, to leading a safe, healthy and productive way of life.”
