Pharmacy Owner Arrested For Filling Fraudulent Prescriptions
OCT 6 -- (Auburn,CA) – Auburn Police Department Chief Valerie E. Harris and Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) Special Agent in Charge Javier F. Peña, announced the arrest of Thomas Lee Husak, 71, of Auburn and service of state search warrants at Skyridge Pharmacy and Husak’s residence.
The investigation began in May 2008 when the Auburn Police Department received information that Thomas Husak, owner of Skyridge Pharmacy, was allegedly providing prescription medications to persons without valid prescriptions and/or filling fraudulent prescriptions. The investigation culminated yesterday when Auburn Police Department and DEA served warrants at Skyridge Pharmacy and Husak’s residence. Husak was arrested at his business without incident. Investigators are still sifting through the information and evidence related to this case. As a result of the searches, law enforcement collected more evidence of improper prescription medication distribution at Husak’s residence and pharmacy. As this case is still ongoing limited information is available for release at this time.
Thomas Husak is in-custody in Placer County Jail for several violations including forged prescriptions, fraudulent representation of prescription, and furnishing a controlled substance without prescription. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
