DEA/NTF Seize 25,000 Marijuana Plants in Santa Ysabel
AUG 26 -- (San Diego, CA) – On August 24, 2010, DEA/NTF conducted a marijuana eradication operation in the area of Highway 76 and Highway 79 on the Santa Ysabel Indian Reservation. There were approximately 25,000 marijuana plants located with an estimated street value of $75,000,000.00 - $100,000,000.00. No arrests have been made at this time. This was the 2 nd largest marijuana field that DEA/NTF has found to date this year in San Diego County. Water was being diverted from the natural springs in order to support the marijuana grow. Chemicals were also found on the scene as well as a camp for the people who were tending the plants. It is estimated that approximately four to five people were staying at the location.
