Pearland Couple Arrested in Massive Cocaine Investigation in
NOV 03 -- (BEAUMONT, TX) U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today that a Pearland, Texas couple has been arrested on charges of drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas.
ADRIAN MOSLEY, 39, and ANISSA MOSLEY, 41,appeared today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith F. Giblin to be formally charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to information presented in court, on July 29, 2009, the Mosleys were stopped for a routine traffic violation by the Beaumont Police Department during which a search of their truck and trailer revealed 8 kilograms of cocaine. After the 8 kilogram seizure, the investigation continued resulting in the seizure of an additional 20 kilograms of cocaine. A federal grand jury returned an indictment on Sept. 16, 2009, charging the Moselys with federal drug trafficking violations. On Oct. 22, 2009, the Mosleys were arrested and authorities conducted a search of their Pearland residence during which a cocaine processing lab, firearms, drug ledgers and a money counting machine were seized.
If convicted, the Mosleys each face up to Life in federal prison.
This case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Galveston Office, the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, and the Beaumont Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle S. Englade.
It is important to note that an indictment should not be considered as evidence of guilt and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
