Washington County Man Charged for Manufacturing and Trafficking
OCT 8 -- LOUISVILLE, KY - A federal grand jury in Louisville returned an indictment against John Robert Boone , of Springfield, Kentucky, in Washington County, on charges of manufacturing and trafficking marijuana, U.S. Attorney David L. Huber of the Western District of Kentucky announced today.
The Indictment alleges that on or about May 27, 2008, Boone intentionally manufactured 1,000 or more marijuana plants and intentionally possessed with the intent to manufacture and distribute 1,000 or more marijuana plants. The Indictment also seeks forfeiture of all property recovered during the investigation.
If convicted, the maximum potential penalties are twenty years imprisonment, a $4,000,000 fine, and supervised release for a period of no more than five years.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr., and it was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
Boone is scheduled to appear for arraignment before the United States Magistrate Judge on October 14, 2008, at 9:15 a.m., in Louisville, Kentucky.
The indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
