Two New Haven Men Indicted for Drug Trafficking
June W. Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration in New England and Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that a federal grand jury sitting in New Haven has returned a nine-count Indictment charging JULIO GONZALEZ, also known as “Aneuri,” age 25 (DOB 07/04/80 or 07/14/1980), of 65 Donna Drive New Haven and WILFREDO SEPULVEDA, also known as “Ramon Antonio De La Cruz Duran,” age 29 (DOB 11/05/76), formerly of 155 Dewitt Street, New Haven, with various narcotics trafficking offenses.
The Indictment charges both GONZALEZ and SEPULVEDA with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin and distribution of heroin. SEPULVEDA is also charged with distributing cocaine and using a telephone to facilitate the distribution of cocaine base (“crack” cocaine).
The charges contained in the Indictment stem from an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Haven Drug Task Force into the distribution of heroin throughout the New Haven area. The Task Force includes agents and officers from the DEA, the New Haven, West Haven, Waterbury, Meriden, Shelton, Guilford and Branford Police Departments, and the Connecticut State Police.
